Voodoo Oils

Knowing how to make Voodoo oils is a big first step in mastering the finer art of Voodoo spell-casting. Many of the new spells included in the Voodoo section require these oils, so I thought I should put the recipes in ones place rather than clutter up the actual spell pages.

So here are some of the common Voodoo oils you'll need in your other spells.

Van Van Oil

This is used for purification, blessings and the removal of negative energies in your home. Many floor washes call for Van Van oil, among other things. To make Van Van oil, you will need the following:

• 16 parts lemongrass oil
• 8 parts citronella oil
• 1 part vetivert oil
• 1 part Palmarosa oil
• Dried lemongrass
• Pyrite (Fool's gold)

The first two are the most important. You can leave out the other two if you must, but you'll have a more powerful oil if you can get a hold of all 4 ingredients.

Blend them well together and let the mixture sit in a dark place for at least a week.

Then stir in a pinch or two (depends on how much oil you are making), of dried lemongrass and a few tiny crystals of pyrite. Bottle it up, and you have some Van Van oil.

Black Cat Oil

You usually use black cat oil to break hexes but it can also be a part of many love spells as well. It's also a common ingredient in gambling charms.

• 2 parts Clary sage oil
• 2 parts bay or bay laurel oil
• 1 part myrrh oil
• Fragments of steel wool or other iron shavings
• Small pieces of solid myrrh resin
• Hairs from a black cat (if you have access to one)

All you need to do is mix all the ingredients together, and bottle up for your spell use.
