Witchcraft Weekly #31
January 18, 2013

And here is that complete newsletter I was bragging about last week. Ok, it's not exactly mindblowing but it's pretty much a full ride this time. Hey, the first full moon of the year is coming up, January 26th.

What's New
Took a little break from writing spells and did up an other info-type page on Wiccan handfastings which is basically a Wiccan wedding ceremony. So if you're planning on tying the knot with a Pagan sweetheart, plan yourself a lovely and traditional handfasting instead of some plain wedding.

I'm still looking for altar photos so if you have some great pics, please come to the site and share them.

Spell this Week
Let's ease back into doing magick with one of my easier spells. This confidence candle spell is on my Magick beginner spells page. All you need is:

• One pink candle
• A handful of pink and white rose petals
• Pure water

Natural rain water is best but you can use bottled water if you prefer (you are going to have to drink it). Set up your altar area with a ring of flower petals with the candle in the middle. Think about all the positive and successful things about you for a few minutes. Concentrate on them. Light the candle, and say "May my own light shine, with love Divine." Take a long drink and let the water wash out any negative thoughts you have about yourself. Leave the candle to burn out on its own.

Herbal Spell Stuff
Have I done cinnamon yet? I should have kept better track. Anyway, here is a little magickal lore on using cinnamon in spells. Yes, the same cinnamon that is likely sitting in your pantry right now.

It's connected to the element of fire, and is used in many rituals for added power. The most common uses are wealth-building spells and any magick involving love or passion. According to mythology, the Phoenix would build a nest out of cinnamon. For spells, you can use ground powder or whole sticks.
